telc B1 Modelltest Online

Most telc B1 Modelltests are PDFs: print, find the audio, set a timer on your phone, mark your own answers. Ours runs online. The clock runs for you, the audio plays in the right place, and the points are counted when you finish.

A PassGerman telc B1 Modelltest online: Sprachbausteine task, answer sheet and timer

Who is this for?

Done with the PDF

Already worked through telc's practice test? Here's a fresh one you haven't seen.

Short on time

No printer, no setup. Open it in the browser and start the clock.

English speakers

Instructions in English. The tasks stay in German, exactly like on exam day.

PDF or online?

The timing

With a PDF, you watch the clock yourself and give yourself "two more minutes". Online, the timer counts down for you.

The audio

With a PDF, the listening files live somewhere else. Online, each recording plays inside the task it belongs to.

The result

With a PDF, you mark your own answers against the key. Online, you get your points and a pass or fail at the end.

What you get

  • ✓ One complete Modelltest for free, with all four written parts.
  • ✓ Points and a pass or fail result, counted for you.
  • ✓ Premium: three Modelltests at launch, with more added over time.
  • ✓ Premium: detailed results behind the points.
  • ✓ Premium: AI feedback on your email.
  • ✓Original tasks, not a copy of telc's PDF, so nothing you've already seen.

How it works

1

Open the Modelltest

In your browser, no download. Block out about 2.5 hours, like the real written exam.

2

Work through it in exam order

Reading and Sprachbausteine, listening, then the email. Same order as on exam day.

3

Get your points

No answer key, no adding up. Your points and a pass or fail appear when you finish.

4

Want the official one too?

telc's free Übungstest 1 PDF is worth doing as well. Two different tests tell you more than the same one twice.

PassGerman exam analysis with result summary, section results and focus areas

No answer key to work through: the analysis shows your total, each section and where you lost points. Sample data.

What's in a telc B1 Modelltest

The written exam has four parts and 225 points. You pass with 135. Our Modelltest follows the same split.

Reading: 75 points

Three parts, 20 questions. Headlines, a long text and ads to match to people.

Sprachbausteine: 30 points

Two grammar and vocabulary gap-fills, inside the same 90 minutes as reading.

Listening: 75 points

Three parts, 20 true or false questions, about 30 minutes.

Writing: 45 points

One email with four guiding points, 30 minutes.

Points from the official telc Übungstest 1, page 39. Every part explained in our German B1 exam guide, and the email in our telc B1 writing tips.

Questions before you start

Is this the official telc Modelltest?

No. PassGerman is independent and not connected to telc. Our Modelltest is original, written from scratch around the structure and timing of the telc Deutsch B1 exam. telc publishes its own practice test as a free PDF on telc.net.

Is there a telc B1 Modelltest PDF with answers?

Yes. telc's free Übungstest 1 PDF includes the answer key (Lösungsschlüssel) and the listening transcripts. You check your answers and time yourself by hand.

What do I get at the end of the online Modelltest?

Your points and whether you'd pass. Premium adds detailed results, so you see where the points went.

Does the Modelltest include the speaking exam?

No. It covers the written exam: reading, Sprachbausteine, listening and writing. Speaking isn't part of PassGerman yet.

How many Modelltests can I take?

One for free. Premium starts with three, and we add more over time.
